CSC Result The Chinese Government Scholarship results are announced by the end of July according to China Scholarship Council policy. Successful students join universities from the beginning of September. The CSC result can be checked through the official results section. General Procedure to Apply Follow it Step by Step
Step 1 Find a good university that offers your required department and is affiliated with the Chinese Government Scholarship. You can check the subject wise university list under CSC to select the most suitable option.

Step 2 Contact a professor at the selected university and request acceptance as a student. Getting acceptance from a professor can increase your chances of receiving the scholarship and the process is not very difficult. Use a proper email format while contacting.

If the professor agrees to accept you then send a supervisor request letter or acceptance letter format to confirm your position.
Step 3 Fill the CSC online application form through the Chinese Government Scholarship login portal.

There are three scholarship categories
- CSC Scholarship Category A
- CSC Scholarship Category B
- CSC Scholarship Category C
CSC Scholarship Category A Select this if you are applying through the Chinese Embassy. According to the latest policy you can apply to two universities through the embassy route.
CSC Scholarship Category B Select this if you are applying through a university. According to the latest policy you can apply to only one university under this category.
CSC Scholarship Category C Select this if you are applying through other channels. If you are applying directly to a Chinese university you should select Category B while filling the CSC online application form.
Step 4 Complete the Physical Examination Record for Foreigner form and attach all required medical reports. This is also known as the Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
Step 5 Take a print and prepare all required documents.

After completing the Chinese Government Scholarship online application and preparing all documents you need to find the address of the university International Students Office. Send your documents along with the printed application form through a reliable courier service such as DHL. Applying to Multiple Universities
Scholarship applicants can apply to more than one university at the same time. It is recommended not to apply to more than three universities. Applicants must submit a separate CSC online application form and a university admission form for each university. According to official data international students can apply to around 273 Chinese universities under CSC.
What are your chances to win a Chinese Government Scholarship
Students with above average grades and a strong study plan or research proposal have higher chances of selection. Many students with high grades are rejected due to weak or copied study plans. A well written original and clear study plan plays a very important role. There are also cases where average students secure fully funded scholarships because of strong documentation and a well prepared research proposal.
Can scholarship applicants apply to more than one university
According to the updated CSC policy each applicant can submit up to three applications including a maximum of two Category A and one Category B applications. Applicants cannot submit multiple Category A applications to the same agency. For Category B only one university can be selected and it cannot be changed once submitted.
Applicants must fill separate CSC application forms for each university. Applying through both Category A and Category B can increase chances of selection.
If selected by more than one university the China Scholarship Council will decide the final university. Once assigned the university cannot be changed.
What if the student does not have an acceptance letter from a professor
An acceptance letter is not mandatory but it increases the chances of selection. Around fifty percent of scholarship winners do not have an acceptance letter. Selection committees often focus on the quality of the study plan or research proposal. Some universities may also conduct interviews before final selection.
Can students apply with a hope certificate
Yes students can apply using a hope certificate if their final result is pending. However they must obtain their final degree before arriving in China between late August and mid September.
Is IELTS or TOEFL required for CSC Scholarship
Most universities do not require IELTS or TOEFL if the previous education was in English. Students can submit an English proficiency certificate from their previous institution. Some universities offer one year Chinese language programs under the scholarship if the medium of instruction is Chinese.
